Grade Weights (Definition)

Grade Weights determine how much influence the various activity types have over the student’s course grade. The default values will sometimes vary from one course to another depending on how the course was designed. These values can be modified (the higher the value, the greater the influence), but the total of all categories must add up to 100. Any categories that have a value of 0 will have no influence on the student’s grade.

If the grade weights are saved at 100%, but later remove all Projects from the course, the system will evenly redistribute the unused weight from the Projects to the other active grade weight categories. The same is true for any other grade weight category.
